Manchester United star Scott McTominay could reportedly have his medical at Napoli on Tuesday as he closes in on permanently parting ways with the Red Devils.
After weeks of speculation surrounding his future and links to multiple clubs, David Ornstein of The Athletic revealed earlier today that United and Napoli had reached an agreement.
Ornstein relayed that the two clubs reached middle ground at the €30m mark. United also stand to receive a share of any future sale of the Scotland international
He further stated that the transfer getting over the line is subject to all parties being satisfied with the player terms.
ESPN add that McTominay has been given permission to discuss personal terms with Antonio Conte’s side.
A previous report covered by The Peoples Person claimed that McTominay was keen on working under the Italian coach and if so, wages are unlikely to be a problem.
According to SportItalia’s Manuel Parlato (via Get Italian Football News), McTominay’s transfer to the Partenopei could be sealed as early as next week.
It’s understood that the Carrington academy graduate’s switch to the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium could go through on Wednesday.
Presumably, this means that papers and documents will be signed then to officially make him the latest addition to the ranks at Napoli.
The United star could arrive at Villa Stuart on Tuesday to undergo his Napoli medical.
McTominay is not the only Premier League midfielder Napoli are close to signing. The Serie A giants have also agreed a deal for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Billy Gilmour, who could be subjected to medical tests tomorrow.
McTominay was involved in United’s 2-1 defeat against Brighton on Saturday after coming on as a second-half substitute.
