Manchester United ready to part ways with expensive signing Antony – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are reportedly determined to offload Antony, who has failed to cement his place in Erik ten Hag’s lineup.

The Brazilian was Ten Hag’s statement signing during his first transfer window at Old Trafford. He was a crucial part of the Dutch coach’s Ajax side but has now become a fringe player at United.

The right-winger has featured just twice in the Premier League this term and is yet to be handed a league start by Ten Hag.

According to Football Insider, Antony is “no longer a part” of Ten Hag’s plans, with United now keen to remove him from their wage bill.

The ex-Ajax boss is open to Antony’s exit, as the Brazil international has shown little progress since his arrival in 2022.

In his 86 appearances at United, he has managed to score just 12 goals and register five assists across all competitions.

The Red Devils secured his services from Ajax in a £86 million deal but considering how his time in Manchester has fared, it is unlikely United would be able to recoup anything close to that figure.

Manchester United willing to loan out Antony in January

It is understood United are “set to entertain loan offers” for the 24-year-old in the January transfer window as there is an “acceptance that any interested clubs will be unwilling to match a high valuation for his permanent transfer.”

United are believed to be open to including an option to buy with any temporary deal. Still, they want the buying club to cover a large percentage of his salary.

The Mancunian giants want to strengthen their squad after a frustrating start to the new season. As such, they are focused on trimming their wage bill to make room for potential signings.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Premier League clubs Newcastle United and Crystal Palace, as well as Ajax, have set their sights on the United flop.

Over the weekend, Antony remained an unused substitute against Brentford, who lost 2-1 to the hosts courtesy of Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund’s goals.
