Gary Neville warns Erik ten Hag: Pressure will be “unbearable” if Manchester United lose to Chelsea – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag faces mounting pressure following a 2-1 defeat to West Ham.

Club legend Gary Neville warns that another loss to Chelsea could make his position untenable.

United’s latest loss sees them plummet to 14th place in the Premier League standings, marking one of the club’s worst starts in recent history.

A controversial late penalty sealed their defeat, intensifying questions about Ten Hag’s leadership.

Speaking on The Gary Neville Podcast, Neville highlighted his worry about United’s ability to compete, even against moderately strong teams. “Anybody that’s half-decent, that puts their shoulders up and has the quality…United are in danger,” he stated.

Reflecting on United’s standing, he added, “Manchester United can’t be 14th in the league after nine games.”

In Neville’s opinion, a loss to Chelsea could amplify the pressure to a breaking point for Ten Hag, especially given the expectations placed on a club of United’s stature.

“I think it’s getting to that point now where there is a real worry.”

“I’m worried because the results, the lack of goals, the lack of performances, it’s stacking up week after week after week, and there will be some sort of reasons given [on Sunday] – I’m not going to say excuses – but reasons given around missing chances. But they keep missing chances.”

“These are the players that have been recruited over the last couple of seasons mainly.”

As United look toward the weekend’s clash with Chelsea, Ten Hag’s future may hinge on his ability to steer the team back on course.

With fans and ownership expecting a swift turnaround, Ten Hag’s ability to respond could define the season and his future at Old Trafford.
