Manchester United and Liverpool are interested in signing Daniel Svensson – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on Daniel Svensson, an emerging defensive star from Sweden who plays for Danish club FC Nordsjaelland.

The 22 year old left back, whose strong performances have turned heads across Europe, is attracting interest from several top Premier League clubs, including Liverpool and Arsenal.

With the January transfer window approaching, United are among the clubs closely monitoring Svensson’s development.

Known for his versatility, Svensson primarily plays left-back but has proven capable of playing multiple positions in defence and midfield.

Scouts often label him ‘the next Camavinga’ or ‘the next Zubimendi’ due to his versatility.

This trait has become essential in modern football, and the young Swede’s standout season earned him his first senior cap for Sweden in October, a move that has only intensified attention from clubs in England, France, Spain, and Germany.

His role has varied significantly; while he initially played as a left-back, he’s also seen action in central midfield and even at centre-back, adding to his appeal as a versatile asset.

United have reportedly been present among scouts from the English ‘Big Six’ who have monitored Svensson’s matches in Denmark this season.

Although Nordsjaelland recently extended his contract until 2027, the Danish club could be open to offers by summer 2025.

Despite his rising profile, Svensson’s valuation remains reasonable compared to players in more prominent leagues, making him a more attainable target for Premier League clubs.

While United already have options at left-back, the team’s ongoing defensive challenges might cause the club to consider Svensson as a future addition to bolster squad depth.

This is especially true considering the injury history of Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.

Some reports speculate Svensson may make an intermediate move to a mid-table Premier League team like Brentford or Brighton before eventually landing at a top-six club.

Nonetheless, United’s early interest signals their intent to monitor the player’s development, especially as competition from rivals like Liverpool builds.
