Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sane breaks his silence on Manchester United transfer links – Man United News And Transfer News

Bayern Munich forward Leroy Sane has finally responded to the ongoing transfer rumours linking him with a potential summer move to Manchester United.

Sane joined Bayern in 2020 after a very successful spell with Manchester City, where he won two Premier League titles.

He was a regular starter at Bayern until the appointment of Vincent Kompany as manager. The former Belgium international has so far demonstrated a preference for other wide options including Michael Olise, Jaman Musiala and Kingsley Coman.

This has led to speculation over Sane’s future in Bavaria, especially considering his contract is set to expire at the end of the current season.

Rarely are players of Sane’s quality and reputation available as free agents and it’s believed that United are among a number of parties keen on taking advantage of this opportunity.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that the Red Devils made an enquiry for Sane. Old Trafford has been mentioned as a serious destination for the lightning-quick 28-year-old.

Arsenal are also thought to be interested in Sane.

The Bayern star spoke to BILD and opened up on the reports suggesting he could be on his way back to England.

“I have confidence in myself, in the situation and also in my club. We are in a transparent and relaxed exchange.”

“I feel really good, the talks with Vinni [Kompany], Max Eberl and Christoph Freund are very good and trusting. That’s why my thoughts are currently only on Bayern, we will see everything else in the next few weeks and months.”

“The topic [money] is not on my mind at all right now. And how much I earn is not my top priority. To be honest, I haven’t thought about it for a second.”

He remarked about his relationship with Kompany, “We both actually know each other well. Under Vinni, we play a good offensive style of football. We have fun on the pitch under his leadership, that is important to me and of course plays a role in my decision.”

Sane added, “I will definitely not sign for another club on January 1 or 2. I don’t need a quick decision.”

On a comeback to the Premier League, he explained, “I have a sympathy for the league, I still watch certain games on TV. The attraction for me lies in the club where I can show my best performance, develop and win titles. I have that at Bayern. This is where I have my greatest challenge and goals.”

United are back in action on Sunday when they travel to Portman Road to meet Kieran McKenna’s Ipswich Town.
