Eintracht Frankfurt’s red-hot striker Omar Marmoush in Manchester United sights as Ruben Amorim hunts for goals – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United escaped with a point from Portman Road after a 1-1 draw with Ipswich Town on Sunday in what was Ruben Amorim’s first game as the new head coach.

It was Marcus Rashford, playing as the striker, who scored within the first 90 seconds to hand the visitors the lead. But after that, the hosts took charge and created the better chances and ended up scoring only once thanks to Andre Onana’s heroics.

The Mancunian struggled to hold on to the ball and failed to press at the right times and Amorim eventually substituted him and brought on both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee in the second half.

The duo fared the same and the Portuguese tactician has a difficult job on his hands to get this team playing the way he wants with the personnel at hand.

Striker hunt

Goals continue to be an issue and both the England international and the Dutchman have been linked with surprise January exits. But whether Amorim can get someone in during the winter, especially after INEOS’ revelation about a limited budget, remains a mystery.

Links have emerged with the likes of Christopher Nkunku and Victor Boniface but the duo are not the only Bundesliga graduates to feature.

Omar Marmoush of Eintracht Frankfurt has been on fire this season, emerging as the Bundesliga’s second top scorer with 11 goals to his name, and 14 overall in all competitions. He is naturally, the club’s top scorer.

The 25-year-old also has 10 assists and and is the highest assist provider among all his peers in the German top-flight. And he has attracted interest from the Red Devils according to Sky Germany.

United like Marmoush

Dubbed the “new Mo Salah”, Marmoush is valued at €50 to 60 million by Frankfurt with his contract valid until 2027.

A January move looks unlikely but if he carries on in the same vein, the Egyptian international could be very much in demand in the summer.

“Marmoush is in United’s sights. According to Sky, signing him would cost around 50 to 60 million euros. The Egyptian’s contract in Frankfurt runs until 2027.”

If a summer approach emerges as the only option, Gyokeres’ fate will decide in which direction the 20-time English league champions head towards. If the Swede cannot be acquired, Marmoush might be the next best thing.
