Real Madrid still interested in Diogo Dalot, but Man United asking for €50 million for full-back – Man United News And Transfer News

Ruben Amorim picked up his first Premier League win as Manchester United boss on Sunday as the Red Devils thrashed Everton 4-0 at Old Trafford.

Both Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee grabbed a brace apiece as the hosts displayed the intensity that the Portuguese has been demanding since his arrival.

After the midweek blunder by Tyrell Malacia at left wingback, Diogo Dalot was picked to start against the Toffees and the Portugal international played the full 90 minutes.

The ex-Sporting Lisbon manager has claimed that his compatriot is more suited to the right but given Amad Diallo’s sparkling form and the lack of quality alternatives on the left, the 25-year-old is likely to start against Arsenal at left wingback once again.

Dalot still on Real’s radar

His form had attracted the interest of Real Madrid in the past and Relevo have now revealed that Los Blancos remain interested in Dalot but United’s asking price could prove to be beyond them.

Real’s main priority continues to be Trent Alexander-Arnold whose deal with Liverpool ends next summer. But both parties remain locked in talks and over a new contract and hence, the La Liga giants are keeping backup options ready.

The Portuguese full-back can play on both flanks and makes for an interesting alternative due to Real’s need for a left-back as well.

But the 20-time English league champions will demand more than €50 million for his services, something that is beyond the Bernabeu club’s budget.

“One of the most talked about and insistently repeated operations is the possibility of Trent Alexander-Arnold landing at Real Madrid, either immediately (very difficult) or in the summer, when his contract expires.

United’s asking price proving too much

“He is not the only player that the white team is following to reinforce its right flank: they have also shown interest in the right-back of Manchester United, the Portuguese Diogo Dalot.

“And the response has been tough, given the economic conditions of the Madridistas: to get the Portuguese player from Old Trafford they would have to start talking from 50 million euros.”

Dalot thrived under Erik ten Hag and earned a five-year contract extension back in the 2022/23 season. Despite a mixed team campaign, the former Porto star was voted Players’ Player of the Year last season by his teammates.

His importance is expected to grow under his compatriot and with his present deal valid until 2028, United hold all the aces and do not need to move him on anytime soon.
