Radek Vitek helps FC Blau-Weiß Linz to another win before winter break in Austria – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United’s loanee goalkeeper Radek Vitek started once again in FC Blau-Weiß Linz’s 2-1 victory over SK Austria Klagenfurt.

Vitek’s side fell behind early, conceding a penalty in the 23rd minute of play.

They got a foothold back into the game when Ronivaldo Bernardo Sales converted a 35th-minute spot kick of his own. The same player then netted the winner in the 67th minute of action.

BW Linz had slightly less possession at 47% but did have 11 shots to the visitors’ five.

Vitek had a quiet afternoon but helped his side to a crucial victory in yet another start for the Austrian team.

Sofascore gave him a rating of 6.9,  as he was only required to make one save in the entire match.

He further protected his goal by making one punch and pulling down two high claims.

Vitek had only 23 touches of the ball and completed 11 of his 14 passes for a pass completion rate of 79%.

The 21 year old connected with two out of his five long ball attempts and made one clearance as his side held out for the win.

The Czech keeper has been in fine form for his loan side since returning from injury in October.

He has conceded just 13 goals in 12 appearances all season and three in his last four games as BW Linz have taken the impressive scalps of Red Bull Salzburg and Rapid Vienna.

BW Linz now sit in sixth position, just five points off third place in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Vitek will be mightily pleased with how his loan has turned out so far and will take a well-earned winter break until the 8th of February, when they will take on Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub in a local derby.
