Corinthians emerge as new possible destination for former Man United star Paul Pogba – Man United News And Transfer News

Former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is reportedly of interest to Brazilian side Corinthians.

Since it was announced that the 2018 World Cup winner was going to have his drugs’ ban dramatically shortened, he has been linked to numerous clubs.

Pogba will be available to train in a matter of weeks and will be able to play official games in March.

The French international has been linked to a shock return to Old Trafford but these suggestions seem fanciful to say the least.

Other teams such as Newcastle United, Al-Nassr and Olympique de Marseille have all been credited with an interest in signing Pogba.

There was even a rumour that United’s rivals Manchester City had sounded the player out over a move.

Spanish outlet Fichajes has reported that there is a new team interested in his services.

It is thought that a “new agreement with Fatal Model, which promises to contribute up to $8 million annually”, could assist the Brazilian club to pull off a sensational deal to bring Pogba to Brazil.

Fatal Model, an advertising platform, has already “made clear its commitment to financially support the operation if Corinthians gives the green light to the proposal” to bring in the former United man.

What’s more, it appears Pogba could be interested in making such a move as he has already posted “an image on social networks wearing a shirt alluding to the country” which has fuelled speculation he may be interested in playing in the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A.

“Furthermore, recent statements in which he expressed his willingness to play for Corinthians have generated a wave of optimism among the club’s fans.”

The Brazilian transfer window opens on the 2nd of January and it will be fascinating to see if Pogba were to head to South America.

A move to the continent would be a shift in thinking, as he has already stated that he is keen to relaunch his career in Europe.

Nonetheless, the image of the ban and the multiple injury issues he has suffered since leaving United in 2022 only complicates a return to the highest level of football.
