David Ornstein: Man United “actively exploring January loan deal” for Randal Kolo Muani – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United are weighing up a January loan move for Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, reports the reliable David Ornstein.

For yet another season, the striker position has proven to be a problematic one for United. Rasmus Hojlund and summer signing Joshua Zirkzee have struggled to impress, with neither player managing to claim a guaranteed starting berth.

Hojlund and Zirkzee have managed just five Premier League goals between them so far this term.

It’s evident that the duo cannot be consistently relied upon to deliver goals for United, which is why the Red Devils remain linked with several prolific forwards, including Viktor Gyökeres, Dušan Vlahović, Victor Osimhen, and, of course, Kolo Muani.

A previous report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Ruben Amorim wants United to sign Kolo Muani this month, ahead of other interested parties.

The Frenchman is not in Luis Enrique’s long-term plans at PSG and seems to be on his way out of the club.

Now, David Ornstein of The Athletic has confirmed that United are indeed among a number of teams pursuing a swoop for Kolo Muani.

According to Ornstein, “Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are actively exploring a January deal to sign Randal Kolo Muani on loan from Paris Saint-Germain.”

“The Premier League clubs — alongside Serie A counterparts Juventus — have expressed an interest in recruiting the 26-year-old forward. As things stand they are emerging as the leading contenders for one of most high-profile players likely to move during the winter transfer window.”

“PSG and Kolo Muani’s representatives have been made aware of the admiration, with the France international regarded by his suitors among the best versatile attackers currently on the market.”

United looked at Kolo Muani in the summer of 2023 but Erik ten Hag elected to sanction a move for Hojlund instead.

Kolo Muani ended up joining PSG from Eintracht Frankfurt for a whooping €90million. He notched nine goals and six assists across all competitions in his first season in the French capital.

So far this campaign, the 26-year-old has managed just two goals and one assist in 14 appearances.
