Amad Diallo has agreed on a new long-term contract with Manchester United: ESPN – Man United News And Transfer News

Despite a turbulent campaign for Manchester United, Amad Diallo has stood out with his incredible displays and it seems he is finally earning his just reward.

As per ESPN, after months of negotiations, United have finally agreed on a new long-term deal with the Ivorian with the club expected to announce it soon.

“Manchester United have agreed terms on a new contract for Amad Diallo, sources have told ESPN. The 22-year-old winger has signed a long-term extension to secure his future at Old Trafford.

“A club announcement is imminent and could come as early as Thursday. His contract was due to expire at the end of the season, although United held an option to extend his deal by 12 months.

Amad new deal agreed

“The club decided against triggering the option and instead chose to negotiate a new long-term contract.”

The 22-year-old’s current contract was ending in 2025 but the club had the option of triggering a one-year extension. However, instead of triggering the extension, the club went all out to keep a hold of their new talisman.

Details of the length of the new deal has been revealed by Fabrizio Romano with Amad set to sign on the dotted lines until 2030 but his new wages are yet to be revealed, but the news will come as a relief for fans after recent talks of INEOS being open to moving on academy graduates.

The Ivory Coast international has six goals and seven assists this season, and he entered the record books after yet another brilliant performance against Liverpool at the weekend.

Amad netted an 80th-minute equaliser at Anfield and his late heroics against Manchester City made him only the third Red Devil to score away to Liverpool and Manchester City in a single campaign.

Since Ruben Amorim’s arrival, Amad has found a new level to his game, excelling both as a No 10 and wingback and this new contract signifies his importance to the Portuguese’s future plans.

Great news for fans

The new deal represents quite the turnaround for the youngster after he was bizarrely overlooked by former manager Erik ten Hag despite his heroics towards the end of last season.

It has not been an easy journey for the former Atalanta starlet since his £37 million move to Manchester in 2020. He was sent out on loan to Rangers, where he failed to shine.

The club did not give up hope and the winger finally came good when he joined Championship side Sunderland on loan a couple of years back.

He has not looked back since and even claimed in the summer that he is open to staying at Old Trafford for the rest of his career. Hopefully, United fans can continue to see more magic from the Ivorian in the years to come.
