Manchester United will be keeping an eye on this week’s Europa League action as they look ahead to the next stage of the competition.
United finished third in the league phase standings of the competition, earning automatic progression to the last-16 stage as a result. The top eight teams from the league phase qualified for the next round, with Tottenham Hotspur also awaiting their next opponents.
Teams that finished between ninth and 24th place, though, had to compete in a two-legged play-off this month. Once the ties are completed, the full line-up for the last-16 stage will be ready for United to discover their opponents, which will take place in a draw held by UEFA.

When is the Europa League last-16 draw?
The draw for the next round of the Europa League is scheduled to take place on Friday, February 21, at approximately 12pm.
UEFA will be holding the draw in Nyon, Switzerland, and will begin once the corresponding draw for the Champions League has been completed.
What teams will be in the draw for the Europa League last-16?
As confirmed in the title, the Europa League draw will have a total of 16 teams on Friday afternoon.
Eight teams have already been confirmed after finishing in the top eight of the league phase of the competition.

Who could Man United face in the Europa League last-16?
United already know that they will face one of four teams in the next round of the Europa League.
Ruben Amorim’s side will await the winners of either Midtjylland vs Real Sociedad or AZ Alkmaar vs Galatasaray. Alkmaar already have a 4-1 lead going into their second leg against Galatasaray, while Sociedad hold a 2-1 advantage going into the reverse fixture against Midtjylland this week.
