Marcus Rashford faces an uncertain future at Man United when his season-long loan at Aston Villa ends, but Ben Foster believes he won’t be joining Arsenal.

Rashford has enjoyed a positive start to life at Villa Park with two assists in four appearances for Unai Emery’s team so far, both of which came during Saturday’s 2-1 win against Chelsea. Villa have the option to sign Rashford for £40million at the end of the season.
But one club that Foster believes Rashford will not move to at any stage is Arsenal. The Gunners have a long-standing rivalry with United, having competed with each other for Premier League titles across the late ’90s and early 2000s.
“Man Utd would never loan him to Arsenal [in January], never in a million years,” he said on his podcast, “They’re not going to send him 1740519640.
“Even if Marcus Rashford kicks off massively, Manchester United would never, ever, ever send him to Arsenal, never in a million years. Happily send him to Villa. It’s that next rung down.
“They’re never sending him to Arsenal, I guarantee you that.”
Whilst any future move to the Emirates Stadium may be unlikely, both clubs have done business with each other before. In 2018, Alexis Sanchez arrived at M16 from North London in a swap deal involving Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with both going on to struggle badly at their new clubs.
Sanchez went on to score just five goals for the Reds before leaving to join Inter Milan in 2020, whilst Mkhitaryan netted nine times for Arsenal before departing for Roma in 2019.
