Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has selected an 18-man squad for Thursday night’s Europa League clash with Real Sociedad at the Reale Arena.

Ahead of the first leg of their last-16 clash in Spain, United have been impacted by more injury concerns, losing both Harry Maguire and Manuel Ugarte. The duo were missing from Wednesday morning’s open training session at Carrington.

Maguire was forced off in Sunday’s FA Cup fifth round penalty shootout defeat to Fulham, being withdrawn ahead of the start of extra-time. He was replaced by youngster Ayden Heaven, who was awarded his debut after arriving from Arsenal last month.

United are already without fellow centre-back Lisandro Martinez, who suffered an ACL injury at the beginning of last month, meaning Maguire’s absence is another blow for Amorim.

On the flip side, Toby Collyer is contention to return from a muscle injury against Sociedad after being included in the travelling squad. He trained with the main group at Carrington earlier today after missing the last four matches.

Patrick Dorgu is also back in the squad after missing the defeat to Fulham through suspension. He was sent off against Ipswich Town last week, earning a three-match ban, but that suspension only applies to domestic fixtures. Harry Amass has also been named in the 18-man squad.

Elsewhere, United will once again be without the likes of Altay Bayindir, Luke Shaw, Kobbie Mainoo and Mason Mount as they all continue to recover from injury. Chido Obi is also missing from the travelling squad after not being included on United’s revised squad list for the Europa League knockout stages.

Confirmed travelling squad:

Goalkeepers: Andre Onana, Elyh Harrison, Dermot Mee.

Defenders: Diogo Dalot, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven, Victor Lindelof, Leny Yoro, Patrick Dorgu, Harry Amass.

Midfielders: Casemiro, Toby Collyer, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes.

Attackers: Alejandro Garnacho, Joshua Zirkzee, Rasmus Hojlund.
