Morgan Gibbs-White on Manchester United’s radar as Ruben Amorim looks to add creativity up front – Man United News And Transfer News

Ruben Amorim’s 3-4-3 system employs two attacking midfielders alongside a striker and Manchester United currently do not have enough quality in that position.

Amad is out injured as is Kobbie Mainoo and both could eventually play further behind while Bruno Fernandes is also having to play as a deep-lying playmaker.

Given Mason Mount’s injury problems and Christian Eriksen’s contract ending in the summer, the head coach wants the Red Devils to go out and secure a quality No 10 once the window opens.

CaughtOffside have added a brand-new name to the list of targets — Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest. The Englishman has been one of the standout stars for the high-flying Forest side who are perched as high as third in the Premier League table.

Gibbs-White on United’s radar

The 25-year-old has five goals and six assists this season including a goal and assists against the 20-time English league champions earlier this season.

And his exploits have attracted the interest of almost all of England’s elites, which shows how hard it will be for United to get the deal over the line.

Gibbs-White’s contract is valid until 2027 and while Forest do not want to sell him, an offer of €60 million would be hard to turn down next summer.

“Liverpool, Arsenal and Manchester United are among the clubs showing an interest in the potential transfer of Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White.

“Sources with a close understanding of Gibbs-White’s situation have informed CaughtOffside that he’s now firmly on the radar of clubs such as Liverpool, Arsenal, Man Utd, Man City and Tottenham.

In-demand ace

“Forest do not want to sell the 25-year-old and are hoping to hold talks over a new contract with him soon. However, CaughtOffside understands that Gibbs-White could perhaps be cleared to leave the club for an offer in the region of €60m.

The “terrific” talent can play all across the midfield and even out wide if needed with his work-rate and creativity a good fit for what Amorim wants from his attacking midfielders.

But given the interest he is attracting, it remains to be seen if INEOS can compete with the other teams in the race given the current financial reality around Old Trafford.

The England international might also not want to leave given the prospect of playing in the Champions League for Forest while United might not be in any European competition next season.
