Man City ready to offer €50 million to beat Manchester United to the signing of Ederson – Man United News And Transfer News

Ruben Amorim needs more quality in midfield moving forward as the current options at his disposal at Manchester United are simply not up to scratch.

Christian Eriksen’s time at the club is up with the Dane hardly managing to affect games like he used to, which is why the club have not offered him a contract extension.

Casemiro is enjoying a renaissance in form but INEOS are keen to get rid of his humongous wages. Someone like Kobbie Mainoo could also be moved on if he does not agree a new contract with the club.

As recently relayed by The Peoples Person, Atalanta’s Ederson has been identified as the perfect fit for what the head coach is trying to build.

Amorim wants Ederson

Champions League football is seen as a deal-breaker and this is where noisy neighbours Manchester City could hold the edge.

As per Tutto Atalanta, Pep Guardiola’s side are planning to submit their first offer for the Brazilian ace in the region of €50 million.

The Bergamo-based outfit will wait to see if other alternatives emerge in the race and if they are ready to offer more for the midfield dynamo.

But Ederson’s mind could be swayed by the possibility of moving to the Premier League to play for Guardiola and the Serie A side can ill afford to reject such a big offer.

“Pep Guardiola has no doubts: he wants Ederson. The Citizens’ sights are set on the Brazilian jewel of Atalanta, one of the best midfielders in the Italian championship.

City desperate to win the race

“To convince Atalanta to let their talent go, Manchester City would be ready to invest a considerable sum: 50 million euros. A proposal that, if officially confirmed, would represent a great temptation for the Nerazzurri club.

“Despite the English offer, Atalanta would prefer not to immediately let go of Ederson, a key player in Gian Piero Gasperini’s team. The Bergamo club is carefully evaluating the possible alternatives.

“But they are aware that it will be difficult to retain the Brazilian in the face of such an important offer and the prospect of competing at the highest international level, represented precisely by the Manchester club.”

United must act fast if they are to win the race. Without Champions League football, it will be difficult for INEOS to muster up the funds to beat City.

But victory in Bilbao could make the difference. Amorim and his team now have an added incentive to go all the way.
