Sir Jim Ratcliffe admires Harry Kane, but signing him for Man United would take serious persuasion – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United’s top priority this summer is securing a prolific goalscoring striker.

The lack of a reliable source of goals has significantly hindered Ruben Amorim’s project, leaving the club struggling for consistency in attack.

Strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have failed to fire United to glory, managing just seven goals between them in the Premier League.

Amorim is eager for an upgrade, and several high-profile forwards have been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

However, will any of these targets hit the ground running once signed?

If United are looking for a proven Premier League goalscorer, one name stands out: Harry Kane.

Kane’s Bundesliga Success

Kane is one of the most decorated goalscorers in Premier League history, having netted 213 goals in 320 appearances.

During his time at Tottenham Hotspur, his presence on the pitch almost guaranteed goals for the North London side.

In 2023, Kane opted to test himself in the Bundesliga, and he has thrived in Germany.

He recently fired Bayern Munich to the 2024-25 Bundesliga title, leading the goal-scoring charts with 26 goals in 31 games.

Winning his first major trophy, one might wonder whether Kane now feels he has conquered Germany and is ready to return to England in pursuit of Premier League glory.

Will Kane Make a Premier League Comeback?

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey suggests that Kane’s camp has indicated he won’t be making a move back to England this summer.

However, Bailey acknowledges the unpredictability of the transfer market, stating via TBR:

“People close to Kane have been asked the question, but say nothing is going to happen – but I can say there are some in football who keep saying watch out for him this summer.

“I don’t really expect a move, but never say never, this is a crazy market.”

Bailey made these comments while discussing whether Manchester United and Liverpool could attempt to lure Kane back to the Premier League.

United’s longstanding Interest in Kane

A United transfer swoop for Kane wouldn’t be out of the blue.

The Peoples Person previously reported that Sir Jim Ratcliffe believes Kane is the ideal striker to lead Amorim’s project and restore United to the top.

If Ratcliffe still holds that belief, now could be the time to test Kane’s resolve and see if he is willing to return to England.

A Premier League comeback would also give Kane the opportunity to chase Alan Shearer’s all-time goal record of 260 goals.

That milestone could tempt him to make the switch, especially if United can convince him that he could finally win Premier League silverware at Old Trafford.

United Need a Proven Striker, Not Just Potential

This summer, United cannot afford to gamble on a striker with potential—they need a proven goalscorer who can deliver immediately.

Harry Kane, whom United could have signed before opting for Rasmus Hojlund, fits that profile perfectly.
