Major boost for United as top striker opens door to “dream transfer” by turning down two clubs – report

Manchester United target Victor Osimhen is “dreaming” of a move to the Premier League, as per reports.

In the early days of the summer, United showed serious interest in Liam Delap and Viktor Gyokeres, as Ruben Amorim is determined to add a new striker to his ranks.

However, Delap turned down their approach for a move to Chelsea and Gyokeres appears to be waiting for Arsenal, who can offer him Champions League football.

The development has naturally forced United to explore other options. In recent days, Osimhen, in particular, has been strongly linked with the Red Devils. In this case, the player’s desire could work out in their favour.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport (via il Napolista), Osimhen is “dreaming” of a Premier League move.

The 26-year-old striker has returned to Naples upon the expiration of his loan deal at Galatasaray. He enjoyed a prolific campaign in Turkey, scoring 37 goals across all competitions.

Napoli have no plans to reintegrate Osimhen into their squad and the Scudetto winners are waiting for a concrete movement in the market. However, the big obstacle for them is that “there is no agreement between his desires (the Premier) and reality.”

Al-Hilal are knocking on the Nigerian star’s door, prepared to offer him a lucrative contract worth €40 million-a-year. However, he is yet to accept their proposal.

Osimhen has reportedly also said “no” to Galatasaray, who have offered him “golden bridges on the Bosphorus.” The Istanbul giants are so keen on retaining his services that they are willing to pay the €75 million release clause in his Napoli contract “without batting an eyelid.”

Still, it is believed that “the dreamer is not disturbed, who undauntedly guides himself towards an unknown destination. Osimhen has always liked the Premier League.”

At the moment, United seem to be his strongest suitors among the Premier League clubs. However, considering their financial predicament, it is not far fetched to assume the Mancunians are neither in the position to meet his wage demands nor pay his release clause.

Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Ineos want to secure the services of Bryan Mbeumo and then focus on sales before making any serious push for a new striker.
