A leading European club has reportedly lodged an enquiry for out-of-favour Manchester United forward Alejandro Garnacho.
Garnacho set to leave United
It’s increasingly becoming clear that Garnacho’s time at United has come to an end and the player will be leaving this summer.
Towards the end of last season, his relationship with Ruben Amorim completely broke down following the head coach’s decision to bench him for the Europa League final. After the final whistle at San Mames, an angry Garnacho cast doubts over his future while slamming Amorim’s decision not to start him.
It’s understood that Amorim then told Garnacho that his services are no longer needed at Old Trafford. The Argentine is on the hunt for a new team and while he continues to be linked to several clubs both in England and abroad, concrete offers for him have yet to arrive.
He has been mentioned to be on the radar of outfits like Chelsea, Aston Villa, Napoli, Juventus, Bayer Leverkusen and Atletico Madrid.
A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Garnacho turned down advances from Saudi Pro League club Al-Nassr.
The 21-year-old was made to train alone when the rest of the squad returned for pre-season training at Carrington. He was also excluded from the travelling party that made its way to the United States for the tour.
With the new season fast approaching, United will be desperate for suitors to come to the negotiation table and now, it has emerged that one club has taken a step ahead of a potential deal.
Bayern Munich eyeing Garnacho
According to ESPN journalist Rob Dawson, Bayern are looking at Garnacho.
On whether Garnacho could seal a switch to Bayern, Dawson notes, “It’s possible. Bayern Munich are looking for a winger and have enquired about what it would take to sign him.”
“United are willing to listen to any realistic offer, but Garnacho’s preference is to stay in the Premier League.”
“So far, there’s been interest from Chelsea and Aston Villa.”
Last term, Garnacho contributed 11 goals and 10 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions.
