Bryan Mbeumo could make his Manchester United debut against Everton on August 3.

United signed Mbeumo from Brentford in time for him to travel to the US for the pre-season tour, but he was absent from the squad against West Ham in New Jersey due to his late arrival from Brentford.

When asked by MUTV for an update on Mbeumo, Ruben Amorim said: “He is not going to play the next one (vs Bournemouth). We hope to have Bryan in the last game (vs Everton). He is training now, so we will see.”

Amorim confirmed that Mbeumo will not play in the second US friendly against Bournemouth but that the Cameroon international could play against Everton in the final tour fixture.

United will end their visit to the States against Everton at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta on August 3.

Brentford’s pre-season started a week later than United’s and Mbeumo is not deemed match-fit, so the club are carefully handling the £65million signing ahead of the new season.

Mbeumo still took part in a cool-down on the pitch after United’s 2-1 victory against West Ham.

When United return from the US, they will welcome Fiorentina to Old Trafford on August 9 for their final pre-season friendly before playing Arsenal in their opening game of the Premier League season eight days later.

United have spent £127.5million on Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha this summer. Cunha made his debut against Leeds in Stockholm last weekend and the Brazilian played 65 minutes against West Ham.
