Manchester United have learnt how long it may take for Benjamin Sesko to make a decision on his future.
United have expressed an interest in signing the RB Leipzig striker this summer as they look to bring in a new centre forward before the September 1 deadline. However, the Reds will also have to face competition from Newcastle, who are also interested in signing Sesko this summer.
As the Manchester Evening News reported earlier this week, United are advancing on a deal to sign Sesko. The interest comes after the Slovenia international was previously linked with a move to Arsenal and the Saudi Pro League earlier in the transfer window.
It remains to be seen where Sesko will be playing his football next season, and now a fresh update has emerged that may affect United.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano has provided some insight into the current negotiations that are taking place around Sesko’s future, including how long it may take for a final decision to emerge.
“Benjamin Sesko is really open to joining Manchester United, even without European football, even without Champions League football,” he said on his latest YouTube video.
“Now the conversation between United and Sesko is entering into the details of the project and the vision of what they want to do. Not only financial details, United are talking to RB Leipzig and to the agent, but also the project.
“United are entering into the details of the vision they have for Sesko, and the player is open to the move. Sesko is also talking to Newcastle, because they are prepared to pay whatever is needed. The price tag from Leipzig, Newcastle are ready to pay, the salary wanted by Sesko, Newcastle are ready to pay.
“So if Sesko decides to go to Newcastle, it would be ready to go. But Sesko is also considering Man United. He is not deciding today (Thursday), he’s not deciding tomorrow (Friday), it’s going to take some days. Not too long, but some days for Sesko to decide.
“Man United feel that the player is open to having this conversation to discuss about the project and the vision. So, Sesko and Man United is something that is absolutely concrete.”
