Cristiano Ronaldo engagement confirmed as Man United star shows teammate support
Manchester United icon Cristiano Ronaldo and his long-time partner, Georgina Rodriguez, have been together for almost a decade – after meeting while he was at Real Madrid.

Georgina Rodriguez has announced her engagement to footballing icon Cristiano Ronaldo.
They have been in a relationship for nearly 10 years since meeting while Ronaldo was at Real Madrid and have two children, with the model a stepmother to his three other kids. The 40-year-old Ronaldo has now – finally – proposed after years of speculation.
Alongside an image displaying an enormous ring upon her wedding finger, Rodriguez said: “Yes, I do. In this and in all my lives.” Diogo Dalot, who still plays alongside former Manchester United teammate, Ronaldo, for the Portugal national team, liked the post on Instagram.

Argentina-born Rodriguez had previously shared images of a ring, though neither had formally acknowledged any engagement. Ronaldo, however, has previously addressed the situation.
He said: “I always tell her; ‘When we get that click. Like everything with our life – and she knows what I’m talking about. It could be in a year or it could be in six months, or it could be in a month. I’m 1000% sure that it’ll happen.”
During her Netflix reality programme ‘I Am Georgina’, the 31-year-old revealed her friends constantly enquire about the couple’s plans .”They’re always joking about the wedding,” Rodriguez said.
“‘When is the wedding? Since Jennifer Lopez’s song The Ring or When came out, they started singing it to me’.
“And well, this is not up to me!”
Despite not officially tying the knot yet, Ronaldo frequently refers to Rodriguez as his ‘wife’. At the 2024 Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai last December, he said: “It’s a big pleasure to win this trophy. My oldest son is here, my wife is here.”
Earlier this year – while celebrating her birthday – Ronaldo shared a message on social media: “For the mother, partner, friend, my wife… happy birthday, love. Your light illuminates us and your love infects us.”
