Manchester United are back in Premier League action against Fulham this afternoon.
Ruben Amorim’s side were unfortunate to not come away with at least a point against Arsenal in their opening game of the season last weekend. Off the pitch, the club could still make new additions heading into the final days of the transfer window.
Signing a new midfielder is on the list but more importantly, the futures of Alejandro Garnacho, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho and Antony will need to be resolved before the September 1 deadline.
With that said, MEN Sport has taken a look at the latest Man United transfer headlines…
Lammens latest
The Mirror reports United are ‘set to win the race’ for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens despite a late bid from Galatasaray.
Lammens is thought to favour a move to Old Trafford, despite interest from Galatasaray, Inter Milan, and Lille. United will now look to finalise an agreement with the goalkeeper and is reportedly expected to sign a five-year contract.
MEN Sport says: This is positive news for the club, securing a deal ahead of next week’s deadline. However, it raises fresh questions over Andre Onana’s long-term future, particularly given past interest from his former club Inter Milan. That said, Lammens could realistically provide direct competition for Onana, with Altay Bayindir possibly the one to make way.
‘Nothing has changed’ for Sancho
AS Roma director Frederic Massara has been speaking about a potential move for Jadon Sancho.
He said: “Sancho is a talented player who has been linked with all the big Italian clubs. Right now, he remains only a suggestion, as I don’t believe the conditions are in place to pursue this negotiation.”
MEN Sport says: Time is running out for both Sancho and United, with just a few days left in the transfer window to settle his future. The winger has struggled to make his mark at Old Trafford, and at present, a move away appears unlikely. For United, offloading Sancho would bring significant financial relief, as his wages weigh heavily on the club’s payroll.
