Manchester United’s on-field crisis is impacting their transfer plans – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United could miss out on preferred transfer targets due to the side’s worrying run of form under Erik ten Hag, as per reports.

United are only seven games into the new Premier League season and they have more or less already dropped out of the top four race, having managed just two league wins so far in what has been their worst start to a PL season.

The way they have started their Europa League campaign, having failed to win their opening two games, it is tough to see them do wonders on the European stage under the Dutch coach either.

Ten Hag’s underwhelming management has not only dealt a huge blow to the Mancunian giants’ on-field aspirations for this season, but his side’s frustrating performances have made things difficult in the transfer market too.

According to the Daily Mail, United’s terrible start to the new campaign could have “consequences” on their transfer plans in January and next summer.

The report claims: “Confidential knows of two recent targets who are having second thoughts about moving to Old Trafford after seeing Erik ten Hag’s side sink to 14th place in the Premier League table and the manager face more uncertainty over his future.”

United spent around £200 million to back Ten Hag’s project with five new senior signings this summer. However, so far only Noussair Mazraoui has managed to impress.

Highly-rated centre-back Leny Yoro is yet to feature for United after suffering an injury during pre-season. Meanwhile, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, and Manuel Ugarte have all struggled under the ex-Ajax coach.

2023 summer signings Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund have also failed to cement their places in his starting lineup.

Ten Hag received plenty of backlash after he dropped his signings De Ligt and Lisandro Martinez to the bench for Harry Maguire and Jonny Evans against Aston Villa before the international break.

Further, Alvaro Carreras and Jadon Sancho’s encouraging performances at their new clubs Benfica and Chelsea respectively have further raised question marks over Ten Hag’s squad management and ability to get the best out of his players.

Accordingly, it is not far-fetched to assume top transfer targets might think twice before joining United with Ten Hag at the helm.
