What Bruno Fernandes complained about in Manchester United dressing room after Sunderland draw
Bruno Fernandes was caught by an elbow towards the end of Man Utd’s goalless draw at Sunderland and he wasn’t happy with the lack of action from the officials.
Bruno Fernandes was unhappy with an elbow by Nilson Angulo
Bruno Fernandes was unhappy that referee Stuart Attwell didn’t take action after Sunderland attacker Nilson Angulo caught him with an elbow in the closing stages of the goalless draw at the Stadium of Light.
The Manchester United captain complained to teammates and coaching staff in the dressing room at full-time after he had been caught by the Black Cats substitute in the closing minutes.
Replays showed Angulo had thrust an arm in the direction of Fernandes’ face and the Portuguese attacker needed treatment after the contact, but Attwell let it go and VAR Peter Bankes decided against getting involved.

It’s the latest controversial moment involving Attwell and United, after Old Trafford officials filed a complaint over his failure to award a penalty for what they felt was a foul on Amad in the 2-2 draw at Bournemouth in March.
Michael Carrick said he hadn’t seen a replay of the latest incident when he spoke after the draw at Sunderland, but said Fernandes and his coaching staff were unhappy it hadn’t been punished.
“Bruno said there was contact and he wasn’t too happy about it when he came in,” he said. “The staff on the bench weren’t too happy with it as well.
“I don’t know, I’m getting a little bit confused with what’s going on really, so I’m maybe better off staying out of it.”
