Xavi wants Manchester United to sign Barcelona winger Raphinha – Man United News And Transfer News

Xavi has “demanded” the signing of Raphinha to become Manchester United’s new manager, claims Fichajes.

Late on Tuesday, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming the former Barcelona manager is emerging as a potential target for United should the club decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag amid their worrying start to the new campaign.

It is understood Xavi, who left Barca at the end of last season, has been approached twice through intermediaries in recent months.

Now, Fichajes has gone a step further, revealing the details of the supposed discussions between United and Xavi.

Xavi’s transfer demand to Manchester United revealed

The Spanish outlet claims the Spaniard has made it clear that he has “one key request in taking on the role: the arrival of Raphinha.”

Xavi allegedly believes the Barcelona winger could be a crucial figure in strengthening United’s attack under his management at Old Trafford.

While the Red Devils have struggled going forward this season, the Catalan giants are flying in La Liga, scoring goals for fun under Hansi Flick.

The Brazilian forward has been a key part of Flick’s attack, having managed to score six goals and register eight assists in just 12 appearances across all competitions.

It is claimed that the La Liga outfit would be “willing to let him go” despite his scintillating form. However, they will only open the exit door if they receive an offer in the region of €100 million.

Xavi brought Raphinha to Barcelona from Leeds United in the summer of 2022.

It is suggested that his arrival at United would make Xavi’s task of leading the Mancunian side at the highest level easier.

It remains to be seen how United’s interest in Xavi, which appears to be in very early stages, unfolds. As such, any suggestion concerning his transfer wishes should be taken with a grain of salt.
