Dermot Mee – 5.5 – Looked shaky with the ball at his feet throughout and made a costly error early on which gifted PSV an easy goal. Made up for it with a stellar save just before the half.
Habeeb Ogunneye – 7.5 – Started the match with a strong tackle which set the tone for the rest of the match as he completely shut out the experienced Couhaib Driouech, who has over 100 first team appearances. Offensively he did well driving into space and getting United upfield, something the team struggled with on the whole. He shifted to the left late on in the match and was just as good there too.
Jack Kingdon – 6.5 – A good defensive performance, he didn’t give PSV many openings and cleared his lines well but could have been a bit faster on the ball which would have helped United’s build up.
Tyler Fredricson – 7.5 – Two goalline clearances stand out but he was a rock at the back throughout with countless clearances, blocks, and interceptions which stopped PSV from creating any big chances.
Tommy Rowe – 6 – Offered composure on the ball under pressure but looked to slow down possession too often when there were counter opportunities open. Defensively he was decent and wasn’t troubled often.
Finley McAllister – 5 – Not his best performance, he just couldn’t find the openings in midfield which left United slow in the build up and unable to assert any control but it wasn’t for a lack of trying.
Jacob Devaney – 5.5 – Similar to McAllister, he didn’t create enough angle to open the space in midfield to play through the lines which saw PSV control the proceedings. But he was good defensively with some robust challenges.
Ethan Ennis – 6 – One of United’s livelier players in attack, he did very well to create space and lose his markers but a poor weight of pass saw most of his openings breakdown.
Jack Moorhouse – 6.5 – A decent performance, if a little too safe from the number 10 spot. Did fashion one chance for Obi-Martin after dodging three challenges with some magical dribbling.
Ethan Williams – 7 – The best of United’s attack, he improved as the match went on and on with his best bits coming late on, particularly linking with Baumann and Biancheri with clever passes to find them in the box.
Chido Obi-Martin – 6 – Scuffed his shot on the one real chance he had. Showed some decent hold up play and smart quick lay-offs when he received the ball but just didn’t receive enough service.
Substitutes
Gabriele Biancheri – 7 – Looked more lively than Obi-Martin with strong pressing and was able to latch onto loose balls and get United up the field with good hold up play to relieve the pressure at the back. Won the penalty late on and finished it expertly into the roof of the net for his 15th goal of the season.
Zach Baumann – 6.5 – Was quiet when he initially came in at the 10 position but came alive when he dropped deeper and drifted to the right to link up with Williams.
James Scanlon – 6 – Wasn’t able to make much of an impression off the bench.
Malachi Sharpe – 6 – Showed a bit of pace at times but nothing threatening.
Jaydan Kamason – 6.5 – A good cameo at the back defensively and got forward well.
