Radek Vitek impresses despite 2-1 loss for FC Blau-Weiß Linz – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United’s loanees had an up and down weekend result wise but probably the stand out performance was Radek Vitek for FC Blau-Weiß Linz.

The Czech keeper ended up on the losing side as his team lost 2-1 to Austria Wien but he made some vital interventions in the game.

Vitek was given a rating of 7.4 on Sofascore after making five saves during the game, with two coming from inside the box.

He made one punch and one successful run out where he cleared the ball from danger from the onrushing attackers.

The young keeper made 62% of his passes and made two clearances for his side. He also won 67% of his aerial duels as he battled hard against the opposition attackers.

Whilst he will be disappointed with the loss, Vitek’s return to form after missing some weeks due to a serious issue will be music to the ears of the United academy team who believe he has a bright future in the game.

Another young keeper to impress was Elyh Harrison, who kept a clean sheet for Chester FC in their 3-0 win over Hereford FC in the National League North.

The Englishman had little to do as he continues to get regular gametime for The Blues.

Accrington Stanley defender Sonny Aljofree played the full 90 minutes as his side made it through to the second round of the FA Cup after beating Rushall Olympic 2-0.

The United youngster started in his usual spot at the right of the back three and helped his side keep a clean sheet which they could later convert into a late win with two second half strikes.

Youth Cup winner Joe Hugill also came off the bench to help his side fight their way into the second round draw.

The former Sunderland man entered the game in the 75th minute and played until the 120th minute of action as Wigan needed two extra-time strikes to see off Carlisle in the first round of the cup.

Finally, James Nolan started in the right back position for Inverness Caledonian Thistle and got more valuable minutes playing in the entirety of the 1-1 draw with Kelty Hearts in the Scottish League One.
