Red hot Man United target Jonathan David outlines wage demands for summer move – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United target Jonathan David has reportedly outlined what clubs would need to pay to attract him as a free agent this summer.

The Red Devils picked up their goalscoring under Ruud van Nistelrooy’s interim role as manager with 11 goals in four matches but their shooting boots have been way off all season.

Strikers Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee only have three goals between them in all competitions and United have only scored 12 goals in 11 matches in the league.

Therefore, it seems logical that the club will look to bolster their striking options in the coming windows and there have been links to Victor Gyokeres at Sporting Lisbon due to his connections with the new head coach, Ruben Amorim.

One player who has been frequently linked to a move to Old Trafford is that of LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David, as United have been linked to making a cut-price move for the player this January window.

A move in free agency might appear more likely however as Tuttosport via (GIVEMESPORT) report that a contract renewal with the French club is looking “unlikely” at the minute with his current deal expected to end this coming summer.

He has made his demands public knowledge to pursuing clubs as the “Canada international wants a salary worth €6 million a year spread out over a five-year contract, equating to around £100,000 a week.”

“On top of this, his agent, Mavromaros, will require a significant commission to facilitate the deal, and the lack of a transfer fee means signing on bonuses will also be expected.”

It is said that these high demands have “not deterred” United though as they have made an enquiry for the striker’s services.

He has built a fearsome reputation across Europe in the last few years and he has been described as “one of the best in the world” at what he does, finding the back of the net.

The 24 year old has been in red hot form this season, scoring an impressive 13 times in 19 matches this season, including six goals in the Champions League this campaign.

The striker would certainly add an interesting dimension to United’s attack and at £100,000 a week, would be low down on United’s top earners list and would represent strong value for money as a free agent in today’s market.
