Barcelona interested in Marcus Rashford but Man United star must halve his wage demands – Man United News And Transfer News

Manchester United have lost back-to-back games since a thrilling Manchester derby win, with the pressure firmly back on Ruben Amorim.

However, the media do not seem to care about the team’s on-pitch exploits with all the headlines being dominated by Marcus Rashford’s future.

All the questions leading up to the Boxing Day encounter against Wolves also centred around the Mancunian and it is clear that he is becoming a distraction, with the dressing room far from pleased with his infamous interview.

The Red Devils would like to find a permanent solution to the problem but INEOS are currently holding out for £50 million to £60 million.

Rashford’s future

That figure coupled with the England international’s humongous £375,000 per week wages (as per capology) means not too many team can afford the England international in January.

As previously relayed by The Peoples Person, the United No 10 dreams of a move to La Liga with Barcelona seen as a particularly enticing proposition.

But SPORT have now revealed that for a deal to occur, not only would United need to reduce their asking price but also the player would need to halve his wages.

“The priority for the English winger would be to leave England and play in the Spanish League. And there his preferred destination is Barça.

“United are willing to sell him for less than 40 million euros, but his salary rises to more than 17 million net, a figure that no one in Spain can afford.

Barca want Rashford to halve his wage demands

“Barça are aware of the situation but have not made any move for this player. They understand that Rashford has enormous quality and his game would adapt to what the team needs, but it would only be viable to sign him if his salary was reduced by half, something they consider impossible.”

This is exactly why the club hierarchy are open to a loan exit in the winter, similar to what they did with Jadon Sancho when he rejoined Borussia Dortmund.

A straight loan could see Rashford regain his form and thereby drawing in more suitors while also enhancing his value, or that is what INEOS are hoping for.

A loan deal could suit the Catalans while Atletico Madrid have also expressed their interest in a temporary move for the Englishman. A clearer picture will emerge once the window opens on January 1.
