AS Roma waiting for United star’s green light to finally end long-running transfer saga – report

Where Jadon Sancho ends up this summer remains a mystery.

Both he and Manchester United are keen to part ways, with the winger hoping to reinvent himself elsewhere, but a move is yet to materialise.

It is not for lack of suitors. Top European clubs want him, but for one reason or another, none have managed to offer him a way out of the Theatre of Dreams.

The latest on Sancho

A report has just dropped claiming that Besiktas are ready to push hard to sign him.

But before that could even sink in, Football Italia hit us with another intriguing update from Italy, analysing the interest in Sancho from Juventus, Inter Milan, and AS Roma.

They repeat the obvious: Juventus need to sell before they can buy, and Inter, on their part, view Sancho as an alternative to Ademola Lookman.

But then comes the bombshell, Roma’s position in the transfer.

Roma is in active contact

According to Football Italia:

“The Giallorossi are in active contact and have received detailed information on the situation.

“Sancho is a player Gian Piero Gasperini likes—potentially more than any other attacking option on Roma’s current shortlist.

“But it remains to be seen what decision the player himself will make.”

Initially, Roma’s interest may have surprised some.

Still, INEOS would welcome the picture the Italian outlet is painting, which has Sancho as a top target for a European giant.

Sancho: Roma’s top attacking target?

It is hard not to feel that Roma view Sancho as a dream signing, someone who could significantly elevate their attack.

But they may be holding back until the former Borussia Dortmund star, who is believed to favour a move to Juventus, signals he is open to joining them.

With Roma’s head coach Gian Piero Gasperini having a soft spot for United’s number 25, he would likely push hard for the deal if Sancho showed any willingness to make the switch to the Stadio Olimpico.
