Casemiro, Lisandro Martinez – Man United injury news and suspension return dates after Chelsea

Latest Manchester United injury news with the latest on Casemiro, Diogo Dalot and Lisandro Martinez after United’s win over Chelsea in the Premier League

Ruben Amorim will still have some injury and selection issues to manage after Manchester United’s win over Chelsea.

United claimed a 2-1 win over Chelsea on Saturday evening to return to winning ways in the Premier League. Goals from Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro secured all three points for Amorim and Co. at Old Trafford.

It wasn’t all good news for United, though, with Casemiro sent off after receiving two yellow cards during the victory over Chelsea. The midfielder will now serve a suspension which may lead Amorim with a selection headache going forward.

Here, the Manchester Evening News takes a look and United’s current injury and suspension list and potential return dates.

Diogo Dalot

Diogo Dalot is currently sidelined with a muscle injury that has kept him unavailable for United’s last two matches.

The full-back also missed the recent World Cup qualifiers for Portugal as he withdrew from his national team’s squad due to the injury.

It remains to be seen when Dalot will return to the matchday squad, with no exact timeframe being given as things stand.

Expected return date: Unknown

Lisandro Martinez

Lisandro Martinez has been recovering from a knee injury that he suffered last season which forced the defender to undergo surgery back in February.

Martinez has returned to training and is gradually building up his fitness ahead of a return to the matchday squad for United.

It’s unclear at this point when Martinez will be available for United, with no return date given as things stand.

Expected return date: Unknown

Suspensions

Casemiro

Casemiro was sent off during United’s win over Chelsea on Saturday and will now serve a spell on the sidelines.

The two yellow cards against the Londoners mean the Brazilian will serve a one-match ban, which will force Casemiro to miss next weekend’s clash against Brentford in the Premier League.

Casemiro could return to the matchday squad for United’s fixture against Sunderland early next month.

Expected return date: Sunderland (H) – October 4
