Further bad news for INEOS as long-term admirers develop cold feet at the last minute over signing United trickster – report

Manchester United have been desperately trying to offload Jadon Sancho all summer, and now his future has taken another turn for the worse.

Juventus seemed to be in the driver’s seat as per reports from Italian media outlets, with personal terms agreed and even a medical scheduled.

But talks have stalled since, and as per what The Peoples Person relayed, Borussia Dortmund have rejoined the race for their former star.

And the Englishman is so keen on returning to Signal Iduna Park that he is even prepared to halve his wage demands.

Dortmund eyeing Sancho again

But the Bundesliga giants are not a 100 percent sure regarding bringing back the 25-year-old for a third spell at the club as per Sky Germany reporter Patrick Berger.

United’s asking price of €20 million and the player’s significant wages are a concern, as are the allegations of the player lacking creativity and the fact that two Premier League teams chose not to keep him.

Ruben Amorim does not want the ex-Manchester City academy graduate while Chelsea paid a penalty to escape from their obligation to buy the forward due to wage demands and the player’s inconsistent form.

“Update Jadon Sancho: BVB Coach Kovac refused to be “led onto thin ice” when asked specifically about Sancho. He’s not playing that game.

“Sporting Director Kehl: “(Jadon) is constantly being linked with us. I understand the desire. We’re thinking about it within our possibilities. The conditions have to be right. (…) We will definitely do something, but we’re limited.”

Having second thoughts

“Sancho remains an internal topic, and he would be willing to accept a pay cut—as reported. At BVB, they value Sancho’s qualities but also have reservations given the prospect of a third attempt, the potential criticism of lacking creativity, and the fact that he had no future at either United or Chelsea.

“Manchester United would let Sancho go for around €20m, according to Sky sources. Juve has recently cooled their interest,” the journalist wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

This suggests Dortmund are having second thoughts while Juventus seem to have exited the race for now. It will be interesting to see how INEOS react now.

It is clear that the co-owners are desperate to get rid on a permanent basis. Whether they can do that this window or might be forced to sanction another loan remains to be seen.
