Manchester United have missed out on one of their midfield targets, as they continue to prioritise attacking reinforcements.
United are determined to hand Ruben Amorim a new striker to complete his revamped attack.
Accordingly, the club’s hierarchy have tabled a bid worth €85 million for RB Leipzig forward Benjamin Sesko. However, they face competition from Newcastle United, who have submitted a higher offer for the Slovenian.
The two clubs are now waiting for Sesko to make a final decision on his future.
The arrival of the Leipzig star should greatly improve United’s frontline. However, United also intend to address their midfield. After United secured the services of Bryan Mbeumo, it was reported that the Red Devils want to sign a defensive minded midfielder for Amorim.
AC Milan leave Man United behind in the race for Jashari
Early in the summer, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming United held talks with the representatives of Club Brugge talent Ardon Jashari.
The 23-year-old midfielder has drawn comparisons to Barcelona legend Sergio Busquets, owing to his technical prowess. However, AC Milan have now struck a deal with the Belgian outfit for the United target.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Brugge have accepted Milan’s latest bid believed to be in the region of €39 million.
Jashari is now set to undergo medical tests, having already agreed to move to San Siro.
Man United to make offer for Sara
United, meanwhile, have set their sights on Galatasaray midfielder Gabriel Sara, according to reports in Turkey.
Sara, who left Norwich City in 2024, has proven to be a great asset for Gala in the middle of the park. Still, he could swiftly return to England amid interest from the Premier League giants.
It is understood that United are considering making a bid for Sara “in the coming days.” For the time being, it seems they are focused on Sesko.
