Manchester United’s out-of-favour winger Jadon Sancho is reportedly a target for three Premier League clubs this summer after his return to Old Trafford was confirmed.
Sancho’s time at United effectively ended when he was banished from the first-team, following a public spat with ex-manager Erik ten Hag. In January 2024, he was loaned to Borussia Dortmund and, upon his return to Manchester, it was said that he had “buried the hatchet” now-sacked with Ten Hag.
Despite this, it was considered best that he spend the 2024/25 season away from Old Trafford and joined Chelsea on loan, agreeing a £25m obligation to buy the forward in the process. However, after an underwhelming stint at Stamford Bridge, the club and Sancho failed to agree personal terms and Sancho has since returned to Old Trafford.
With options now seemingly becoming limited for Sancho this summer, the England winger has been handed a lifeline to keep his hopes of playing in the Premier League and Europe alive. Indeed, The Mirror understands that Aston Villa, Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur are all interested in bringing Sancho to their respective clubs.
Newcastle and Spurs are both gearing up for Champions League football next season, and are wanting to bolster their attacks. Tottenham are thought to be keen on Bryan Mbeumo should they appoint Brentford’s Thomas Frank, but The Manchester Evening News understands his preference is still United.
Villa, meanwhile, are set to lose out on Marcus Rashford this summer. Despite agreeing a £40m option to buy, Villa do not have first refusal on the United man and, as such, he’s free to explore other options this summer, particularly a move to Barcelona.
Sancho would be seen as a cheaper option for the club considering they will be in the Europa League next season rather than the Champions League thanks to their final day defeat to United at Old Trafford. The Manchester Evening News understands there is no desire for Sancho to be reintegrated into their squad under Ruben Amorim.
