Marcus Rashford may have been given a potential boost as he continues life at Barcelona following his Manchester United exit.
United allowed Rashford to leave the club on a loan deal for the 2025/26 season to join Barcelona. Rashford had spent the second half of last season on loan with Aston Villa, which included a £40million option to buy clause which was not activated.
Rashford has already scored his first goal for Barcelona, which came in a 5-0 friendly victory over Daegu on Monday. However, there are still some concerns about the La Liga side potentially being able to register the United loanee as part of their squad, in what would be a nightmare situation for the winger.
This is despite Barcelona club president Joan Laporta stated earlier this week that the club had confidence in being able to register Rashford and the other summer signings. Now, the La Liga outfit have been handed a potential boost which may increase their chances of being able to register the United loanee ahead of the new season.
Spanish outlet Mundo Deportivo has provided an update on Oriel Romeu’s future at Barcelona, with the midfielder seemingly destined for an exit. The report claims that Romeo could leave the La Liga giants in the near future, with Girona and Real Oviedo reportedly interested in a deal.
If Romeo was to leave Barcelona, it would free up space in their squad for them to be able to register Rashford in La Liga this season. The Spanish giants also have to register fellow summer signing Joan Garcia as well as goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Gerard Martin.
