Evie Rabjohn
Manchester United’s official website has announced that “Manchester United Women defender Evie Rabjohn has signed a season-long loan deal with second-tier side Sunderland.”
The 20-year-old moved to United in 2023 from Aston Villa and will now go in search of first team opportunities this season at Sunderland.
Rabjohn had serious injury issues last season but she has come back in pre-season and played well against both Aston Villa and Manchester City.
The young defender has only played for the senior team once, a League Cup appearance in 2023 against Sheffield United.
Speaking to Sunderland’s official website Rabjohn claimed, “I’m very excited to be here, to play in front of the fans, as I’ve heard the club has a massive support. I know the coaches here have worked with young players, and that’s perfect for me, and I know that I am where I need to be to continue improving.”
She also stated that the club’s values were really important in her decision to join them on loan.
Sunderland’s head coach Mel Reay stated, “we’re delighted to secure the loan signing of Evie alongside Keira from Manchester United. Evie is a versatile defender and we hope WSL2 will provide her with more valuable experience as well as help us achieve our goals for the season.”
Rabjohn, alongside Barry, are in line to make their debut against Sheffield United tomorrow evening.
