Picture: United supporters send blunt message to star with strong gesture in Arsenal clash

Manchester United fans delivered a clear verdict on sidelined forward Alejandro Garnacho during Sunday’s meeting with Arsenal.

Garnacho missed the Arsenal game

Garnacho was unsurprisingly not part of the matchday squad that fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat at Arsenal’s hands.

The Argentine is part of Ruben Amorim’s ‘bomb squad’ –  a group of five players who have been banished from the first team and were left out of United’s pre-season plans.

Garnacho and Amorim fell out towards the end of last season, after the player publicly slammed the head coach’s decision to name him on the bench for the Europa League final loss to Tottenham Hotspur. Garnacho also publicly questioned his club future.

Amorim responded by informing the Carrington academy graduate that his services are no longer needed and he should look for a new club.

The 21-year-old continues to be linked to a host of teams both within and outside Europe but Chelsea are his preferred transfer destination. A report covered by The Peoples Person relayed that Garnacho told United he will only depart Old Trafford for Stamford Bridge.

If a switch to the Blues fails to materialise, Garnacho is prepared to stay at United and not play football for the next six to 12 months.

The situation has clearly struck a nerve among United supporters, who have not hidden their displeasure with the once-adored star.

United make their feelings on Garnacho crystal clear

Before United vs. Arsenal kicked off at Old Trafford, a picture of Garnacho was vandalised by some supporters.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano shared an image of the portrait, which noticeably depicted Garnacho’s face as distorted.

Chelsea are believed to be waiting until the final moments of the transfer window to lodge a bid for Garnacho. The feeling is that Chelsea think this will force United to sanction a cut-price exit for the out-of-favour winger.

However, according to BBC’s Simon Stone, United are determined not to let Garnacho leave on the cheap.

Meanwhile, United are back in action on Sunday when they make their way to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.
