Manchester United have reportedly no plans to re-integrate Antony back into the first-team squad.
Antony has arguably been one of the best right-wingers in Europe since joining Real Betis on loan in January.
Following his struggles at United, the 25-year-old took little time to find his feet in Seville and ended the season on nine goals and five assists in 26 appearances for Betis.
Antony is now due to return to Carrington but it appears the Red Devils are keen on parting ways, this time on a permanent basis.
According to Givemesport, United “remain determined” to sell Antony, as Ruben Amorim has decided the Brazilian’s form is not enough to “force his way into his Old Trafford plans.”
It is understood that Antony has been informed that he has no future under Amorim, with United “desperately searching” for a buyer.
Betis have shown interest in extending the Brazil international’s loan stint but United’s preference is to offload him permanently.
The report claims the Premier League giants are willing to listen to offers worth in the region of £30 million. However, United could consider loan proposals that include an obligation to buy.
The outlet add that it is “increasingly likely” that Antony has made his “final appearance” for United.
Recently, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, and Bayer Leverkusen are interested in signing Antony. Leverkusen are now led by Erik ten Hag, who made a bold decision to splash nearly £80 million to sign him from Ajax in 2022.
Sky Sports also suggest Antony is on Leverkusen’s shortlist of targets, but they interestingly claim that “re-integrating him into the United set-up cannot be ruled out.”
Even if Antony ends up staying, it would be difficult for him to start regularly, as United are looking to add two wide playmakers to Amorim’s ranks. The club’s hierarchy have already agreed a deal to sign Matheus Cunha, and they are now in talks with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo.
